10 Famous Project Managers: Leaders Who Shaped Success

What an experience! It has been working with these groups for their informative presentations! I have learned a lot about management and motivation and feel like I have a good understanding of how everyone in the class prefers to work. I felt like Steve Jobs with all the project management I was doing! I think all of the presentations went extremely well, and I appreciated everyone's efforts in getting them done. The two largest challenges I had were lack of communication and absent group members. Group 4 was more of the latter, with several people in their group going ghost up until the days before their presentation. One person in group 4 even dropped that class before finishing the presentation. Thankfully, Nicole from group 4 was the glue that held it all together. She finished polishing the presentation and got everyone on the same page, and to top it all off, they were the first group! Group 3 struggled with effective communication. Tatyannah and Kaela were often on a completely different page than the rest of their group, leaving people like Kosara and Lucas lost. I would have liked to see more empowerment, as there was a small issue with Tatyannah overwhelming herself with unnecessary work when that could have been spread out to other group members, making everyone feel more involved. She managed to produce an amazing interview through Dr. Adrian Mesa, a healthcare and mental health professional, and that was so much fun. Groups 1 and 2 worked out the kinks, and their group efforts went much smoother than the previous groups. They were able to coordinate and deliver well-organized presentations. One small issue was Juan's sleep-deprived ramble, which ended up messing up our schedule, but we recovered well. My absolute favorite group was group 1! They were so low maintenance, had a really cool interview from a healthcare professional in Spain, and we even almost met up on Halloween! Enough about my experience managing; I really want to focus on all of the cool information that was shared about each group's respective topics!

Group 4 started with Evenica laying out the two major concerns when it comes to student health: water and air pollution. She passed it over to Waltron, who went into how we can individually focus on environmental concerns, like an increase in recycling, competency in climate awareness, and clean energy initiatives. Noel compared the American and the superior Finnish climate initiatives, while Alan spoke about Venezuela and the lack of education in environmental awareness. Nicole ended the presentation with a really cool interview from a company that focused on a product called Liquid Humux, which is an effort to use pure nutrients in feed to reduce the carbon footprint animal farming emits.

Group 3’s topic was healthcare and family. Kaela gave us a really well-presented history of the healthcare system, outlining its issues and how it has changed over time to become what it is today. She transitioned into Kosara, who spoke about national and local healthcare associations like the American Red Cross, the American Medical Association, the Center for Disease Control, the Florida Department of Health, and the Jackson Health Foundation, and how these associations help provide support to their communities and the American people. Maray used all of this information to relate it to families in healthcare and gave us a small timeline of how families in healthcare have changed. She also made some strong points about how the current administration has certain policy changes that can or will affect healthcare in the near future. Tatyannah tied it all together and gave us a really cool interview that I mentioned earlier, Dr. Adrian Mesa. He came to class and shared his experience in the healthcare system dealing with his brain tumor and running his own mental health practice. Really Cool!

Off-the-Charts Heat: 2024 Global and U.S. Temperature Review ...Group 2 did a presentation on the economy and environment, two intertwined topics.  Jenise started with giving a background on the environment, covering some of Walton and Evenica's points about climate change, climate change awareness, and steps we can take individually to offset climate change. Juan gave his long, heartfelt speech about being prepared for natural disasters. He spoke about the primary environmental threats and resilient actions we can take, i.e., preparation, encouraging conversation, sustainable urban planning, and ecosystem restoration. Gabriela transitioned us into the economic side of the presentation, how capitalism in America affects how we take on environmental concerns and how that differs from other parts of the world that are more socialist democracies. They ran an awesome little Kahoot quiz about the environment, which unfortunately I wasn't there to participate in :(. Valentina spoke about the green revolution and gave us an awesome interview from her 2 economics teachers about the current state of the economy and how it relates to college students, and how that compares with their experience going through college as a young adult.

Finally, group 1, my power team, spoke about healthcare and immigration. Ashley started off by comparing and contrasting the private and insurance-based healthcare system of the US with the universal healthcare system of Spain. Emily took us into the national and local organizations, focusing primarily on the FDOH and AMA. Daniela gave us our introduction on immigration, starting with Muslim and other immigration in the UK, then handed it over to Brando to talk about immigration in the US and how it has changed over time. Alondra talked about local immigration associations like the Florida Immigrant Coalition and the Catholic Legal Services, focusing on how they help immigrants. Angelina had an interesting interview with her grandma, who was a first-generation immigrant, and she spoke about how her experience with healthcare has been as an immigrant mother. Luciana ended it with a cool interview from Dr. Ava Martin, a healthcare professional from Spain. She went more into detail about the common misconceptions about the universal healthcare system, its advantages, and her experience as a healthcare professional.

Overall, I really enjoyed managing these groups for their presentations. Shamelessly, my favorite group is group 1, but I wanted to give a special shout-out to Nicole Saa from group 4 for keeping her group together and Tatyannah from group 3 for giving us a really cool, real-world interview.
